Terms of use
Short, and written to be read. The parts that could cost you something are near the top rather than near the bottom.
1. This is a free beta
CareerOS is in beta and is free to use. That means two honest things. It may change, break, or lose a feature you were relying on. And it is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied.
2. What this is not
It is not legal advice. UAE employment law is summarised here with the authority that published each rule and the date it was last checked, so you can go and read the source. A summary is not a substitute for a lawyer, and the product says so on every page that carries one.
It is not financial or investment advice. Salary ranges are estimates with their evidence attached, and the product will tell you when the evidence is too thin to support a conclusion rather than producing a confident number anyway.
It is not a recruiter and it does not represent you to anyone. It does not guarantee an interview, an offer, a salary, or a visa.
3. Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping your password to yourself. Confirm your email address before use, keep your details accurate, and tell us if you think someone else has access. One person, one account.
4. What you put in
Your career record stays yours. You grant us only what is needed to run the product for you: to store it, process it, and show it back to you. We do not use it to train models, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with employers or recruiters.
Do not upload anything you are not entitled to share, including a document that belongs to an employer.
5. Automation, and the risk you take on
CareerOS can drive LinkedIn in a browser on your behalf. It is off by default and sits behind a notice you have to read first, because the consequence is specific and real: automating LinkedIn breaches their User Agreement, and the usual outcome when it is detected is a restricted or permanently banned account.
If you switch it on, that decision and its consequences are yours. The product paces every action, stops at the first challenge, and keeps well under any plausible threshold. That reduces the risk. It does not remove it, and nothing on our side can.
The same applies to fetching pages a site asks crawlers not to fetch. The default is to honour robots.txt. If you turn that off, the verdict is still recorded on every fetch, so the log always shows whether a page was taken against the site's stated wishes.
6. AI features
Every analytical engine in this product is deterministic: the same inputs produce the same output, and no model decides a number. AI is used only to phrase things and to extract structure from documents you upload, and every output says which engine produced it.
You may supply your own Anthropic API key, in which case those calls are billed to your account and you are bound by Anthropic's terms as well as these. Without a key, everything still works and is phrased deterministically.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use CareerOS to:
- Misrepresent your experience, qualifications or compensation to anyone.
- Send unsolicited bulk messages to people who have not asked to hear from you.
- Attempt to reach another user's data, or to probe, scan or overload the service.
- Break the law of the United Arab Emirates or of wherever you are using it from.
The product refuses to help with the first of these by design. It will not put a fact on a CV that is not on your verified record, and it will not answer a question on an application form that it has no verified answer for.
8. Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from the privacy page, and the deletion is real erasure rather than a flag. We may suspend an account that is breaking section 7, and will say why.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, CareerOS is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, for lost opportunity, or for a decision you took after reading something here. This is a free beta and you should treat its output as one input to your own judgment rather than as a conclusion.
Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not permit it to be limited.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction over any dispute.
